Default Title issues

I think has been covered before, having trouble finding the thread.
I just got back from DMV here in Virginia to title and tag my bike.
The rep. told me I would need a Bill of sale, odometer statement
and proof that it's a motorcycle? I have called the dealership
but no calls back as of yet. Any advice? To top it off I'm trying
to run the Hammer Run this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the title?

Couldn't you load the bike up along with the title and take it to the DMV to verify the frame VIN, engine VIN and odmeter?

If you bought the bike from a pvt party transfer of ownership should be documented on title? The DMV would then issue you a new title in your name?
That's kinda how it works out here in Cali.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply Rick.
The dealer I purchased from sent a certificate of origin of a vehicle.
And that took nearly 8 months AFTER I took ownership. No were on this document does it say motorcycle or that it is a motorcycle. The vin was
put into the dmv computer and nothing, meaning it did register??? Not to mention under the heading series or model= xc 200 race. Which brought RED
Flags out.. There is no Odometer statement either. Well dugh.

On the MSO or Certificate of Origin, under body type, there is the abbreviation MC which means motorcycle.
These bikes are not meant to be tagged. We are allowed to bring them in under a Competition Off Road Exemption. Off Road means no street use. Some DMVs will issue tags but they are not supposed to.
