Default Shock rebound grind

My rear sachs shock has started making a grinding noise on the rebound stroke

I see that LTR has this on their website and talks about replacing a ball in the check circuit, i have two questions, first being is this ball a steel ball (like a ball bearing) where would I get one from

Second question is how serious is this, do I need to get it sorted out urgently, is it doing damage or (from what I gather from LTR website) it is gust a bad sounding vibration?

Thanks

You should be able to source a loose bearing from a local bearing house if you decide to replace it. That being said, you shouldn't have any long-term damage (except to your eardrums) from running the stock check ball.

thanks Steve, not so much the noise as the embarrassment when anyone sits on the bike ... for now i blame it on the Hyde swingarm guard ;-)

I pulled the whole check valve out when I revalved it, it was a one piece unit, bolt with a tube attached, I'll find it and post up a pic tomoz. if you like that feel racetech make a valve that has no moving parts and a bleed if needed.

@Simmo when you say "like that feel" what do you mean, what does the check valve do and why would you remove it.

I am thinking that if i have to go to the effort of opening it up to change the ball i might as well make it worthwhile and fit the racetech valves at the same time
