Default Is this a 2013 model?

Hi All

I was hoping for some help on this bike:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GAS-GAS-EC...item27df85389d

Is it a good year for the EC300? I notice there is no Ohlin.....and the reviews for the 2014 model suggest that the EC has developed into something significantly better.

Regards,
Rich

Its a 2013 model, but the base model. The US only receive one build as per their spec. Here in Australia we received same as your link. A base model with the E Start, 45mm OC Marzocchi forks, and a Sachs shock. And then a Race model with no button, 48mm CC Marzocchi forks, Ohlins shock, and alloy subframe. IMO the base model isn't worth it when compared to the Race.

Thats a good bike for the money, yes the race is better BUT they are a lot more expensive.

Thanks, guys....the race only has better suspension and alloy subframe, no other improvements?

Must admit I always loved the Ohlin appeal on Gasgas

Thats it. Upgraded forks. The Ohlins shock isn't really any better than the Sachs (but it does look and sound better). Alloy subframe is a decent upgrade depending on your purpose for the bike. BUT, the Race doesn't have a magic button. That means a lot to some people too.

If you are content to chugg around and enjoy the scenery the E start might meet your needs. Only you know the answer, but I'd at minimum factor in a revalve on those 45mm zokes (if it hasn't been done already).
