Default Ec250 pv not opening

Hello from Ireland,my bike is a 07 ec250.Basically it has no top end as the pv is only opening half way at wot.I adjusted the pv as per sticky on this forum and even stripped governer to check for missing balls but all was ok.As the sticky is mostly about not fully closing, poor low end and rattly running i was wondering has anyone any ideas on how to get my pv to fully open.If I jam pv fully open it has no bottom end but screaming top end so its only pv mechanism thats stopping it rev out fully.Any suggestions are warmly welcomed,Cheers Gene.

So, um you don't say if you stripped and cleaned the PV itself. They're pretty good but the do jam up from time to time if you don't clean the carbon off. Can be done on bike easy enough.

If you pull off the actuating linkage does the PV rotate freely through the full range?

Through the exhaust port while keeping the valve closed? Or is there more to it?

No I havent cleaned pv assembly itself and I do have a lot of spooge so thats the next job allthough it does move very easily through full arc without linkage.

Check that the linkage isn't fouling where it passes through the hole into the clutch case area.

Mine needed some dremel work to free it up, and that seems common from what I've read on here.

RHS power valve cover off. Pipe on. Run the bike and watch to visibly see where its jamming/whats happening. Disconnect the actuator arm from the plate and watch again. If its working in the later instance the problem exists in the drums/flapper. If not, something down in the governor and arm assembly.

I'd personally look at a good cleaning and some new bearings in the drum assembly. Clean running and no spooge can tend to result in more hard carbon buildup as opposed to just messy oil.

Read the tech article back on the main page & it explains it better than I can.

I've found that what seems to work when you push it doesn't always work when in use. Also the rev test is so brief its hard to see what is happening every time. You'll catch a problem probably most of the time but not all the time.

To be clean is to be sure.
