I just removed my kickstand last week. I have lost count now. Think that was bolt # 6 I have gone through. I don't get it. I had my CRF250X for nearly 5 years. Used and abused that kickstand. Never and I mean never had to touch that thing once....!?!?!?!?!

New to Gasgas. Is this a 12 and newer thing or do I have an issue with my 11?

No issue with 2011 kickstands, different design. However, the 2011 issue is the frame tab behind the bracket (that also supports the chain roller) is known to break off. Keep everything snugged up, preferably with loctite, and you shouldn't have a problem.

My 2010 kickstand is still fine, but most likely only because i heeded all the warnings and have not let it retract aoutmatically, I always guide it back up with my foot.

PS after 4 years it finally got me, i was putting the stand down with my hand and quicker than an angry mamba it got me on the knuckle, have not managed to get my wedding band on it for the past 3 days!

If the stand is so pain in the ass, why not just make a new one. Buy a generic/universal one, and make a fastener?

I can see the pain, buying a new bike, and shit is falling apart. But hey, it IS spanish.

So what ever happened to the shoulder bolt idea. 2012 and always have issues worst design ever for a kickstand.

Mark has my 14' kickstand bolts I just need to have him send them to me. My fault because I haven't called him back with an order to add them to. I'll try to get that done by tomorrow. I have a 13' waiting here for the up-grade. I will post on here as soon as I get it done. Hopefully have some info by early next week.

Fingers crossed, mine is holding for now. I feel I'm on borrowed time though!

How about welding a thicker post on made out of Chromemoly?

So instead of bolting the kickstand on you slide it onto the post, thread the other end and put a washer and lock nut. I could not envision it breaking a piece of chromemoly. Worst case it bends a little but at least you would not have a total failure of the bolt breaking. Mine typically has broken in the garage and I have been lucky not to get hurt, this was the first time it broke on the trail.

No letting the kickstand come up on it's own...who would do that anyways!!! No soft dirt I always find a rock or stick...never had a sinking kick stand issue.

I'll tell you what if i ever get injured due to the poor design of the kickstand maybe a lawsuit will get GasGas to put a REAL one on their bikes. Totally uncalled for, a racer can remove it if they are worried about weight...a trail rider NEEDS it, and a PLATED rider really needs it. I otherwise LOVE the bike. I'm surprised due to the bike being legit on EU roads a reliable way to keep the bike up is not a must by the EU.

I'll pay an aftermarket company $150 to give me a reliable kickstand versus this joke.
