Default 450 FSE / FSR year changes

I'm thinking of buying a 450. Which year were the problems eliminated? The problems I'm concerned about are the major reliability issues and failure to start.

Also wondering what the differences are 05, 06, 07.

Thanks

Get a '05 or newer.

Besides the overall chassis changes these are some of the major engine related stuff:
'05 - new starter motor assembly
'06 - wet sump

'08 - kokusan EFI

Well I seem to have won the bidding on eBay for an 06 with an 07 motor fitted. Any issues to watch out for?

Only issue is some 07's needed an updated clutch side cover due to oil pressure issues at idle. its not life threatening as mine had approx 3000 miles on it before i changed it.

How does the clutch cover effect oil pressure?
Did they leak or do they have an oil way in them?

It was a recall rectified under warranty, replacing the entire cover including the seal.

It appeared to have uneeded oil passages in the old cover. Under warranty if you had someone to submit it to. I got stuck with two of them in the Dixie transition.
