Default Motosportz Underbar Damper Setup

Who would be interested in getting this Motosportz underbar damper setup? Currently they only make the over the bar setup for the Gassers but this was a 1 off made for a friend and member lineman12345678 by Kelly at Motosportz.

He emailed me that if 4 people or more were interested he would do it and sell the complete package (damper and mount) for $380 +shipping. List price is $425 for a complete package. Pretty good deal IMO.

More info about the dampers can be found at http://www.motosportz.com

Top reviews over on the Orange site and my buddy uses one and likes it.

I'd be interested depending on what the bar position would be. If they made one that put the bars in the same position as the stock mounts in the forward holes, and with about 10mm rise over stock I'd be VERY interested.

You can use the either hole for bar position i am running mine in the stock mount position. It also gives it about 3/4 of an inch of rise. I can tell you it is a great addition to the Gasser handeling.

Well Go Fasters said they would be willing to stock 3 of these setups so only one more person is needed to get the ball rolling here. If you want to do it arrange with Go Fasters and Motosportz. I'm gonna have to save some more dough before I can do this but someone do it .

This is probably the lowest profile underbar setup you can get (short of the new Ohlins $700 damper for selected bikes only) and will use the stock triple clamp with no custom ProTect mount needed (like with a Scotts setup) and only raises things maybe 3/4" like lineman said.

I would do it, but need a couple of more details before ordering.

1. Does it come with the bar mounts? If so, 7/8" or fat bars? I have 7/8", but if i knew what was needed to go fat bar, that would help. If all i need is a new bar, and can get a trick Easton from them, that would be fine.

2. Will it work on a 2002 EC/DE 300?

If i can get answers, I am in. $380 is a good price. If needed, i'll go fatbar, too.

I will be riding with the owner of Motosportz this weekend and i will ask him your questions. I know you can get the Easton set up for your bike if you run the under mount damper.

If you look at the picture of linemans setup you can see it uses the stock GG bar clamps on top of the damper mount.

http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/att...2&d=1224737839

Since both the older 7/8" and newer 1 1/8" bars both use the same size 10mm through bolt for mounting the clamps I see no reason you could not keep your existing bars and clamps. You will need longer bolts though because of the added thickness of the damper mount. These may be supplied with the kit.

1 more thing you need to find out and that's the mounting surface of the triple clamp where the damper bracket is mounted is probably different from the 2002 bikes to the more recent models (like the bike in the pic) which could be a potential problem depending on how the bracket is made. You need to find this out.
