Default 2008 tank real tank capacity

Hi guys... today I have drained tank and than measured the real capacity... I have marked every liter on tank... reserve was just 0.3 litre.. than on factory 3 liter mark there were really 4 litres... on 6 litre mark there were 7.5 litres... totally full tank to top were 9.8 litres... now just wondering if 12 litre tank is really worth it.

You may have heard about this trick for some extra capacity.

Extra reserve fuel can be had by removing the in tank fuel filter, extending/replacing the pick up tube and installing an external fuel filter.

I doubt you'd pick up any real world benefits removing what little plumbing there is inside these tanks..

I've always found with a well tuned efficient engine setup and an extra L or so in the backpack I'm good for around 120km.. Not often I go further than that between fuel stops.

Hah! That kinda answers some badly formed questions in my mind. Thanks for that. Knew the reserve was tiny. Found out the hard way.
