Default Just picked up an 06 with a gearbox problem.

First off, a couple pics!

It's been a little neglected but overall not in bad shape. The guy I bought it from said it tossed the chain and it bound up. Then it wouldn't shift into gear anymore. I got it home and pulled the drain plug and there was a gear tooth on the magnet. It does shift for me though. In fact the bike has been sitting for almost a year and it fired right up. Obviously I'll need to split the cases but considering I only paid $400, that's okay.

That is a great deal! If all goes well it wont be too bad to fix. Is the shift shaft bent from the chain throwing?

No. Everything on the outside looks fine. The radiators are perfect even. I'm excited to have a buddy bike! Ive wanted one for a long time.

Thumbs up

You sure snatched that up quick! That wasn't listed on KSL for but an hour or so before you snatched it up! Looks a lot like my '05. It should be a great bike.

You know KSL. Gotta move quick! Actually a friend found it and gave me the heads up.

I actually rode it around today. It's fast! Starts easy. Runs really good. Unfortunately 4th gear is the one that spit a tooth. I'm getting ready to split it now.

Okay. Cases are apart. Looks like two teeth missing in 4th gear. That little 3/4 gear is $150! Dang!

If you want it to have a bit more UUMPH and a little hit in the power delivery you can remove the reed spacer.

Motorcrosscenter have got a new complete gear set for $279, you could keep the rest of the gears as spares.
