Default Who has put an aftermarket flywheel on their 200?

I'm looking for a little more low-end out of my 09' 200ec. I have put the PV cover on and adjusted the gearing but would still like a little more.

I am wondering how much/if any of the lightness and maneuverability of the 200 that I have come to love will be lost by increasing the rotating mass/adding a flywheel within the engine?

Thanks!

J

On my 06 200 I have done what you describe plus added a FMF Gnarly pipe. On my 15 200 I have done nothing to increase the bottom end (yet). I don't know what modification that makes the best increase, but there surley is a difference between the two when it comes to low end power. I will try to install a PV spacer of big PV cover on the 15 as well.

Regarding increasing flywheel wheight, I haven't tried it. There are screw-on wheights available, so it's easy enough to test if you are willing to pay for a wheight However, I would expect that you lose some of the properties that make us love our 200s.

I guess trying it is the only way to find out, but not sure that the 200 would respond well to added flywheel weight. It was the Lectron carb that really made the 200 for me - so consistent and responsive it feels controllable everywhere. It came with an fmf gnarly, so not sure how much difference the pipe makes.

Having owned 2 EC200's, they are great bikes. They can lug or rip depending on mods and setup.

So, our 2 bikes were setup very similar with jetting and gearing, but performed a bit differently. One reason was the 2k2 vs 2k3 ignitions. Do a search and you'll find lots of great info on how they make a difference. But, the biggest difference I found was in the pipe.

Here's some good reading:

Lastly, doing the RB head and carb mod really transform this bike. Lots of folks have done this and no negative results.
