I lived in AZ for about 40 years (In Ohio now). A good website to hookup with riders who are into single track is www.arizonatrailtalk.com. They post rides all the time and are a pretty friendly group.

There is also www.ridingaz.com. They also post rides but are about 50/50 bike/quad riders.

Tons of awesome riding around prescott in the Bradshaw Mountains and around Camp Wood.

If you are a racer go to www.amraracing.com or www.whiplashracing.com. AMRA does more technical singletrack races and Whiplash is more about higher speed two track desert racing. Both are fairly well run.

Good luck and have fun!

Nick,

You see a ton (relatively speaking) of Gassers (including Tom Szenina of Gas Gas Southwest) up just ten miles NW of Flagstaff on Saturday and Sunday.

Look up Wing Mtn, oh, heck...

Click this...

Take 222B (yes, B), and drive about a mile or two, curving right. You'll see a half-dozen or more toy haulers from the Arizona Trail Riders

Careful. Whodat is a known "hike-a-bike" practitioner. If it's not rocky and 1st gear, he isn't punishing himself enough.

I thrive on that kind of riding. I run out of people to ride with because of it.
