I just wired it straight to the coil and worked ..so what are the black and green wires doing that were going to the old switch I still do understand this ignition curves system

The switch to the CDI box changes (advances or retards) the timing of when the coil fires. Same as moving the pulse generator to change spark timing. The effect is to change engine power delivery characteristics for different types of going - 'sun' on the switch for aggressive and 'rain' for softer.

oh! shi..t are u sure. then how do u kill the engine? ? and could I be down on performance without this switch? ? I find that hard to believe the guy I bought it off said it was a run switch only it was broken

the overall performance is pretty much the same with the map switch on or off, i guess without the switch it will be fixed in one state (either rain or sun) and that i cannot answer
rain mode is slightly tamer and puts the power to the ground better, and sun mode is more mx type of power, quicker revving and sooner (these are mild changes so dont think it will be like comparing an xr200 with a cr500!)
