Default Ground location and mystery wire

I'm rebuilding my 2005 EC250 and I didn't remember this issue when disassembling. There is a pair of wires coming out of the stator cover, containing a yellow and white wire. I can't find a connection for the white wire. I found this wiring diagram and it looks like it is unused.

Can anyone confirm that this white wire is unused? Perhaps it is for an e-start charging application (which mine is NOT).

Second question: Is the typical ground behind the coil? I see a ring terminal mounted to the coil. I am just trying to determine if I need to clean off the frame paint behind the coil... I can't seem to find another ground. Guessing this was it.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Look at the ~AC symbol for the stator. It shows three connections.
Yellow = AC output
Ground = other side of the AC circuit
White = not connected

White is the full AC output of the windings and is rectified for battery charging on estart bikes (leave it unconnected). Yellow is the normal AC output for lighting and is what you should use.

I don't remember the ground point location, but it is near the coil or on one of the mounting bolts. Definitely needs a bare spot on the frame to work well.
