House of horsepower is in the exhaust section and sounds compelling but expensive.
Perhaps yours is an older one with a heavy ignition and a fww. I had an 01 like that. The fmf, ignition, combined with the fww most likely the culprit. Just removing the fww probably not going to make much of a difference. Borrow a pipe if you can. I think the majority of the problem is there.
