Hyde
Those Hyde guards aren't exactly beautiful but they do look up to the task.
Anybody weigh their full setup? What are the mounting issues and what can be done to help with that? Some have reported melting problems. Is this more on 4 strokes or do 2T pipes melt them too?

For a '12/'13, the Hyde for the '11 fits great. All you need to do is fab a simple rear mount. The front holes even line up wth the factory frame tabs. I don't even use the pipe clamps, no need. No melting.
Yes, its ugly, but IMO its the best pipe protection available. It collects mud, but foam takes care of this. R&R is super easy, I do it before a wash and oil change. Force in Austrailia now makes an alloy integrated skid plate/pipe guard, but its very expensive and the shipping puts it even more out of reach. |
