Default Ec250 not revving out

Hey guys, just got a 2001 ec250 to play around on.
The bike doesn't seem to want to rev at full throttle on idle. Quick pump of the throttle is nice and crisp but pin it and it seems like it loses revs.
This is my first 2stroke so im not an expert. Ive bored and replated the cylinder and put a rebuild kit in it.
The bike was sitting around for awhile before i purchased it apparently.

Any tips or am i just not doing something correctly

The bike has a messico front pipe also, standard muffler

Thanks guys

I would start by checking the floats are even (not bent) and then make sure the float level is correct. http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11886

While you are doing this take a look at the needle and seat to confirm they are in good shape.

Once you set the float level make sure the carb body is level when the bike is sitting level. It is on a complex angle in two directions and it can be hard to see. It is easy to verify with a short carpenters level with the tank off and the carb top off.

Float level is step one and may correct your problem but if not we will cover jetting next.

Another consideration after reviewing your float height is the silencer. The packing can get soaked with excessive oil and become restrictive. If you haven't already, you might want to repack the silencer and make sure that the rest of the pipe is clear.

How's the compression after the rebuild? What did you use for base gasket(s)?

Ive repacked my muffler. Will pull off the carby and have a good look at it. Appreciate all the advice

Compression is good.
For a gasket i initually used a thin paper gasket that came with the kit. But it had oil blow through it. So i pulled it off and put some gasket good in there

If the silencer is a spark arrestor type make sure the spark arrestor isn't all clogged. My 300 had this issue and it was because the spark arrestor was almost packed solid with carbon/ oil

Bit to work with. Be methodical in your approach and start checking things off.

Is the carb nice and clean? No jets blocked? What jetting specs are you running?

Does it do this in neutral or all gears? Every time or only some times?

Ok guys. Took the carby off this arvo to have a look and clean it up.
I firstly took out my sparkplug. That seems to be covered in a little bit of fuel so its running rich.

Took off the float body and the pin holding the float in was just barely hanging in there.
Cleaned up the carby and slid the pin/bush back in and it just wobbles around and doesnt lock in at all.
Is the carby stuffed?

Just to note aswell i put it back together ran it (def running rich) killed the fuel to run it out and it ran better for a second before it ran out of fuel

Hmm :/
