Default Removing Battery from the Circuit

Let's say, hypothetically, that the estart functionality of a GasGas was suspect and that the rider was able to kick the engine to life anyway. Could you remove the battery to save weight without modifications to the electrical system?

I'd have to look at the schematic again, but I think the DC side just powers the starter ckt, so then sure, just remove it.

I'm contemplating removing mine (and the starter) and then putting it back just when I need big lights for night rides or dual sport.
