My guess, there's some wires crossed over a bit of miscommunication or something simple. Let it go a bit rather than keep banging heads, he's an honest operator that has never let me down.

I'll drop by tomorrow and pick up my needle and jet and after that I'll have nothing more to do with the gentleman.

Rodent, that's a terrible situation. Did you even ask them to jet your bike?
My bike is currently in Bayside's workshop, fairly happy with their customer service this far. |

After repairing handguards and steering damper since a previous crash, I raced it again. Two races in three weekends, not bad.
As mentioned in another thread, I crashed during "track testing" on Saturday. Although I seemed unhurt at the time, some of my ribs obviously did get an impact. Before starting in Sunday's club race, I was feeling a little nervous and didn't feel too confident after falling off the "wall ride" the previous day. The annual fall club race is in one of my club mate's back yard, a short, thechnically challenging track with a lap time just over 2 minutes for the fast guys. The ground was soaked after weeks of rain. After just a few laps, the steepest uphill had been transformed into something more akin to a mudslide, and I really struggeled to get to the top. I used half an hour on that hill alone, and was close to throwing in the towel. But I did manage, and did 3 laps afterwards. A grand day out, 44 riders from 5 to 65 years of age. Lost of spectators, neighbours from the village and club members. All the images are at https://www.livredd.info/index.php?/category/290

Last weekend I fit up a Shinko 216mx Fatty that I bought to try out about a month ago. It was by far the easiest tyre I have ever fit to the tubliss equiped front wheel. It basically fell on!
Took it for a ride at the local in extremely wet and sloppy conditions. I was a little skeptical of all the claims about these tyres and to be honest have never really loved any front tyres. This tyre is the only one I will be fitting from now on as long as it doesn't do anything silly like throwing knobs/splitting etc. It is absolutely amazing!! It feels like I have an extra 6 inches of suspension travel up front, trail trash and rubble is no longer felt, hands don't get sore hitting sharp square edges. It climbs out of greasy clay ruts with ease but holds a line perfectly even in loose sand. The only downsides are a slightly heavier steering input and it clips the bash plate on heavy landings, but to be fair I need to up the spring rates front and rear so they may well be fixed this week when they show up. Got some 0.46's on the way from Jan at Shock treatment and had a 5.8 rear spring left over from the TM. It is a tad heavier than the recommended 5.66 but it should be fine. Going to service the shock and forks while I am in there and may even check out the valving for the other KYB equipped bike riders that want some Gasgas magic in their forks! Damn I love this bike!!!

I bought back my old 2002 EC125. The last owner took it for a ride.
1. "warmed up for 3 min". 2. bogged in first gear (probably not that warm). 3. ran clean in 2,3,4 4. during the WOT 4-5 shift the motor locked up. He said the bike sounded normal and the ran clean with no odd noises or vibrations. It is leaking coolant from the newly ventilated crank cases. The hole is about 7 to 10mm wide and 35mm long (5/16 to 7/16 wide and 1 7/16 ling) directly below the crankshaft. I will pull it apart this week. It is locked solid. The trans oil looks fine and it rolls in neutral fine. I hope the cases can be saved. |
