EC300 Cylinder problem

Did you wash the cylinder with hot soapy water after you got it back from the platers? Sometimes they are a bit lazy and don?t wash them properly. And brake cleaner on a rag is not good enough. The hone lines it the cylinder hold a lot of microscopic honing grit etc.
Check for cleanliness with a wipe with a white rag and fresh engine oil. Should not be grey at all.

I just washed it with a rag and some brake cleaner. Put a little bit of an oil coating everywhere and put it on.

+1. The debris can get into the transfer ports also, so clean everything well with soapy water until no residue is visible.
