Default Chain slider question. Please help

I'm in the process of doing the linkage on my 06 250 and I thought I would replace the chain slider on the swingarm while I'm at it. I went to my local dealer and he had an older model in stock. This slider will fit, but it does not have raised side panels on the top to guide the chain. My question is: Does this matter. Can i just use the older model and forget about it or should I order the newer model chain guide. Has anyone had better luck with the newer style vs. the older one? Thanks in advance

My 99 EC200 had the OEM "old style" went with the newer style, with the raised guides towards the swing arm pivot. It just seems to make since that the raised guides direct the chain right to the c/sprocket. I'd go with the newer style if it was me...I did

I did notice on my old 2000 200 the chain slapped against the subframe near the kickstand area when slightly loose, the newer design should stop this,my 06 300 doesnt have any rub marks on the subframe by the kickstand

That makes sense. My 06 does have less chain slap than the 03 now that I think about it. I think I may go with the newer style.
