^^ That is the one I bought. I pulled my wire harness apart and did not see any kind of inline regulator with the yellow wire coming from the stator. I did notice there was a white wire coming out of the stator with the yellow, but it is not plugged into anything.

The white wire does the same thing as the yellow wire but it delivers a slightly higher voltage for battery charging. This requires a regulator/rectifier unit to provide DC voiltage.

An AC regulator just limits the maximum AC voltage so you don't burn out bulbs.
