I am using Motul 800 at 32:1. More oil is better. Any oil will do honestly. The synthetics are all good. The blends have a lower flashpoint and therefore less groz dripping out the back and less fouling of the muffler packing. I like that, but still prefer the high end oil for peace of mind. I can deal with a little spooge, who cares?

Amsoil interceptor 50/1 + a few drops... with a ton of spooge...I am now playing with the brass.

45:1 or so interceptor. This seems to work best so far minimizing spooge.

Ok...what the deal here? The subject of oil ratio's and type of oil is more of a hot topic than Tiger Woods these days

My question is....does the ratio of oil and the type of oil cause "the drip"?

....or the liberal use of brass?

Just asking out loud!

Thanks

Actually, that's a really good question!
I run my 07 EC250 @ 50:1 MOTUL 800. I seem to be getting more spooge than any of my previous bikes, which I tended to run @ around 42:1 - same oil. I think it is largely related to jetting. I get almost no spooge if I ride all day on open trails where I spend a lot of time on the pipe. Riding slower more technical trails will give me more spooge. Although this sounds ass about face, it kind makes sense to me in that I am running a N1EG needle - I think this needle is a bit rich low down but it gives great pull through the midrange and transitions onto the pipe effortlessly. Does that make sense to you guys ?
