Default JD red needle equivalent?

Hi everyone

This is my first post and I want to thank you for giving me access to this incredible source of knowledge.

Last year a bought 2012 EC 300 R. Seller give me a JD Jetting kit but don't have the red needle and the blue one is on the bike. The blue needle work very well in cold weather but seems to be too rich for summer riding.

As it seems impossible to buy only the red needle and I don't want to pay for another kit, is there a Suzuki ,Yamaha or KTM needle similar to the red one?

I'm fairly new in jetting business as my other bike is KTM 690 and it's injection, so my best shot is to follow Mr. JD instruction and the initial setup is with red needle... that I don't have.

Thanks

N3CH (Yamaha/ktm) would get you close. Perhaps a bit more aggressive than the JD needle.

An NEDH would be a middle ground too.

In saying that, most of us with 300's end up around a J diameter needle. My testing in warmer weather indicated while a 38 H would work, a 42 J (pilot; diameter) felt better on the transition.

If I'll go with a J needle do I put it in starting position #4 as describe in JD guide?

I'd start in the middle position and adjust as required.
