Default Ngkb8es plug

Can the ngkb8es be used in a pinch without any electrical damage.
Thanks

Yes.
The "R" plug has a resistor built in, to suppress electrical noise that would affect your electrical accessories.

Potentially the interference could mess with your digital cdi, but to be fair it is a reasonable distance apart. It won't damage it though so use it as your spare no drama.

Not an attempt to hijack the OP's thread, and I certainly don't work for them.

But if you're looking for the best price for NGK plugs look no further than RockAuto, I have been buying plugs in bulk from them for years and have literally saved thousands

Not sure if you guys in the US save a great deal, but for us guys in OZ it's well worth it.

I also buy my O2 sensors from them.

I use all kinds of sparks in my EC, but mostly NGK BR8ES because they are cheaper. Not as cheap as in the US though.

BR8ES > Us$ 4,40
BR8EG > Us$ 9,90 that's what the manual recommends
BR8EIX > Us$ 17,00 that's the iridium one

There is no benefit in running a non resistor plug. The resistance protects from back emf which can potentially cause damage to cdi
