I was commenting on the actual weight. That seems to be a concern with many riders until they get to ride a GG; "light feel" has a lot to do with setup and whether or not you run an oversize tank etc.

Gotcha, and yep having ridden it, it felt light/small/manageable which is exactly what I?m after, and exactly what my crf wasn?t. Ditto the ktm 200 exc I looked at too for that matter.

Just wish it was a bit cheaper / didn?t look as much like it had been raced. It would be in my garage already.

I need to get a ride on the later model frame now, plan to ring around some dealers to see what they have.

So I bought the 2011 ec250.

i went back and had another look. It's been used, but it's also been very well looked after. The previous owner is a mechanic, and everything that should be was greased and lubed and cleaned, and nothing that shouldn't wiggled or slopped or vibrated, and the bike runs beautifully starting first kick from cold, and pulling so cleanly through every gear. I got it for a good price too.

I was going to go for a ride last weekend but things are still a bit too wet around here. But this weekend I'll be going out to Pirini park for a shake down to see if I still know how to ride.

Cheers for the advice.
