Default Need a power source 2011 300r

Any idea which wire I can tie into on my 300r to power my trail Tech? I assume the voltage is regulated somehow because the headlight would need regulated voltage. But the one loose wire I found was not regulated and would surely fry my voyager

Edit: I found the yellow wire which appears to be dc voltage but it is only showing 4.5v on my multimeter? Is that correct?

A non-estart bike would only have AC voltage. Your yellow wire should read 12-13VAC with the bike running (between the yellow wire and chassis ground which is the yellow/green wire). The Voyager is supposed to work on AC or DC voltage.

There has to be some sort of regulated voltage for the headlight? Right? It is a regular automotive bulb and it is just as bright at an idle as it is at wide open throttle.

Yes you should be able to just tap into the power wire for your headlight.

The yellow wire from the stator connects to the voltage regulator. It also connects to your lights (through the headlight switch).

Wondering if you installed your voyager on the AC supply line and how it worked? I am looking at picking up a used one and am afraid to fry it based on seeing comments form others. I have a 2011 EC200.

Simplest method is to buy a voltage rectifier and connect it to AC for input (yellow and yellow/green). Then take it's DC output (maybe red and black depending on the brand) and use that to power the Voyager. The Voyager would then be operating on isolated DC voltage and should give no trouble.

This is best considering that many users have reported AC voltage spikes passing through the stock voltage regulator and taking out their light bulbs.

My voyager worked just fine on the GasGas power. Had it on there all year with no problems. I tied into the yellow wire I believe? Can't remember for certain and I no longer have the bike to verify. I just fired the bike up and got out my multimeter. It seems to me one of the wires had a constant 13v no matter what rpm the engine was at. I assume it's the same circuit the headlight worked off of because it was just as bright at an idle as it was at WOT.
