Default Another E start problem encountered and overcome.

Had a problem with the E start not always starting ( ie. would not even try to start ). Felt like a flat battery or a buggered regulator as lights etc would not work either in the end.
Bought a new starter solenoid just in case and fitted it last night.....no go.
Went through the really easy to read electrical drawings and realised I had 12v at the reg and through the fuse next to the relay but nothing at the junction to the start button loom.
In the last times it worked I had to turn all the way to the right and it would sometimes start.
After removing tank etc and stripping loom cover back I found the red and black wires had broken at the soldered joint by the headstem.
Obviously resoldered and taped up and all good.
Just thought I would let you all know.
Cheers Mark

Also I found on my that the o-ring on the base of the starter had worn out. This was causing the stater not to engage the bedix correctly. I think I am on the path to getting this starter working

Yet another different e start problem encountered on my Annual High country ride.
My e start stopped working and would not even click .
When I got home I pulled the tank off and started tracing wires again.
Found the cables had rubbed through in numerous locations all the way to the copper. Also found the lug at the e start end for the earth had snapped.
I removed and reran the cables in a different location and ran both of them in a clear plastic pipe for added protection.
I should have it sorted now and it should stay reliable for a while.
Cheers Mark

Mine broke at pretty much the same place. Took a bit to track down as it was under the sheathing.
