If the OP?s only gripe is about the AER fork, what revalve options is he willing to consider?

You've heard incorrectly. I can tell you for a fact that neither the frame nor the swingarm is a 2016 KTM copy. While they are similar in looks, thats about where the similarities end. Handling is quite different. And IMO the GasGas handles much better... Yes I've ridden both bikes. And I've ridden a '18 TPi250. The GasGas is currently the best two stroke dirtbike I've ever ridden.

Ok, what about the starter design. It?s a dinosaur of a design and doesn?t look good. Is this a reason to avoid the bike? Will gasgas?s new motor design be out in 2020?

My starter works 100% of the time. Every time. Hot or cold. And I live in Canada. So it gets cold.
Just cause its in the same old location doesn't mean its an old design. At least not in this case...

No word on a "new" motor. But this one was very heavily updated for 2018. New cases, new head, new crank, basically everything was new except the transmission gears.

Well that?s good to know. How is your 250 down low? Is it pretty stout, more so than a 2017 + KTM, or about the same?

Are there any Gassers in your area to test ride?

You could have dozens of GG owners speak in glowing terms and you still wouldn't know if it would suit your needs.

Default Awesome

I rode the 2018 Gassers at The Loretta Lynn Demo, they are, imho, awesome. More bike than you will ever need unless the rider is Kailub Russell.

Do yourself a favor, take one for a spin.

Its funny you should ask that today of all days... I've ridden the '18 Husky T250i earlier this year. But today I traded with a friend and rode his '17 KTM 250. Counterbalanced with a Lectron carb and AER forks. One heck of a bike I tell ya. But I was still happy to trade back, and he was reluctant. He's a long time KTM rider, used to work at a KTM dealership. He's an A line rider in the states, and a Pro line rider in Canada. Fast little bugger he is.. I asked if my GP had converted him... His reply was that if he could get parts from GasGas at the same discount as his current sponsor gets him from KTM he would switch in a heartbeat. He absolutely loved the bike. And was very reluctant to give it back again. I liked his bike ok. But very much preferred mine. They are very different. Don't let the look of the frame make you think otherwise. They feel different, handle different, etc. The KTM has always felt skittish in the front end to me. The Gassers feel planted, and compliant.
But don't take my word for it. Go ride one. That will be all the proof you need to walk into your nearest dealer with a deposit in hand.

The local dealer had a demo a few months back that I should have taken advantage of.At the time I didn’t see gasgas being a legitimate choice but after reading all the rave reviews I’m now very curious. KYB being the big selling point. I tried to buy a yz250x for that reason but couldn’t find one in my state so settled for the KTM. I don?t know anyone who has one or seen one in my area(gasgas)
