As above 42 pj, 175 mj , n3eg needle, clip in position 4, bike runs clean pulls well but on inspecting plug seems to be running too lean thinking of trying 178 mj to see if that helps any ideas anybody. many thanks. bike in uk.

Which carb model, temp, elevation, fuels, oil ratio.. They all make a difference. In saying that if a G diameter needle and 42 pilot is clean off the bottom it sounds like an AS1 and you'd probably want a 178-185 main.

Hey mate, I'm running Jakes setup :
178m 42 pilot AS 1.5 turns out.
Yamaha N3CJ clip 3.
Standard BR8 plug and 50:1 Motul 800.
Generally 15 - 20 celcius @ ~320m.

My bike is a 2013 300r in Australia with about 5hrs on it and this setup is fantastic, heaps of power and leaves the plug ceramic a golden brown.

Thanks for the info too jake, it has made a huge difference, although I seem to be braking harder and later

AS1 Needs richer specs than AS2. The N3EG will be close. Bigger on the main for that carb and also being a 250.

Wandro. Glad to hear its working well for you!
