Default 2006 EC300 Dash Wiring

Good Morning,

I am in the middle of refurbing a 2006 EC300. The previous owner tore out all the wiring for some reason, cutting all the plugs out, etc....

I have it all running and charging now. I used the sticky above on getting DC without floating ground and worked great. I have all the lighting functioning now but I am stuck with the cut wiring at the dash. I have figured out the status lighting on the sides of the dash, however the 6 wires coming from the center portion of the dash are another issue....

I have the wiring diagram from the manual but I cannot make out the coding for the dash...There are 6 wires: red, black, blue, yellow, green and brown. Can anyone tell me what they are for?

Thanks

Mike

Red is switched power
Blue ground
Green and black are speedo sensor
White and brown I am still unsure about but must have something to do with tach...

Assuming same model in your region. Yellow wrap around ht lead for rpm (doesn't work that well) . If memory serves, I think the capacitor top left powers the blue backlight.

No problem! Brown is clock. It needs to be wired to a 12v battery because it will flatten smaller batteries in a week or two. I fitted a small battery holder to my old ec just to have use of the clock for time cards and did without the rest of the time. Probably a legacy thing from the 4 stroke gassers with starter batteries from that period, only on a gasgas

One last question...well maybe one last question... Does the yellow wire pick up its RPM signal from the firing signal to the coil?
