From a post on KTM Talk

"I hope you can help me .Do you know the difference between ( N0Z )series and ( N1E )series carb.needles?
I was told that the triple tapers and the strait dia. are the same for the same letter.
(example n1ee is the same as n0ze) The difference is the clip grooves are shifted 1/2 mm.

You're good on everything but that. The N1Ex is 1/2 clip position richer than N0Zx.
Don't be afraid to try these needles in pos #2 or even #1 for the N1Ex."

And as I remember the NOZ needles were leaner with a higher number at the end and that number corresponds to the straight diameter i.e. low throttle openings.

For example N1EG is leaner at low throttle openings than N1EF.

See also my post on my needle spreadsheet will show you a NOZI needle so the shape of the N1Ex should be similar.
