Default Do you have insurance on your bike?

I just got quoted $250 a yr for theft with $100 deductible and thought that was ?
Where is the best place for dirt bike ins. and what do you pay? is $250 high?

Thanks

I pay $142 / year through Farmer's Insurance Group in Lafayette and I have collision because my bike is plated. I would think off-road only would be cheaper.

my wife (who is my ins agent) tells me if it is stolen from your house, it is covered by your homeowners ins, subj to deduct.. which is about what my bikes are worth...

i wonder tho... you can "schedule" property (like jewelry) on your home owners..... wonder if you can do a bike.. i will ask..

homeowners typically will not cover stolen bike since it has a VIN. call your insurance guy now and get it covered. my friend just lost 20,000 in dirt bikes.

I have to have it for street plate and enduros (which often use public roads).
I have mine through Progressive. I was able to add on "options" like skid plate, enduro computer, steering damper, etc.
It is under $150 for the year (in VT). Not sure what the deductible is.

she said in texas anyway... this is our best option.. the progressive thing..

cannot schedule a dirt bike...

our policy, she says, will cover them in case of theft from my house as part of the contents coverage.. subject to deduct.. which is about what my bikes are worth.. so you have me thinking about it..

she is a licensed adjuster and claims mgr in texas..

I had 3 bikes stolen out of my garage about 18 months ago. Home owners does not cover bikes, quads, etc. Not fun replacing 3 bikes. I got insurance for mine, but don't remember how much it costs. Pretty cheap per/mo. if I remember right.

Be careful. I've heard of people getting dropped by their homeowner's insurance provider due to owning things like certain breeds of dogs, dirtbikes/ATVs, etc.

Same here. There's a discount for AMA members too.
