gas gas ec 125 revving problem. HELP!

hi, i have a ec 125 been working fine since i got it pulled well through every gear, but now it has developed a splutter just after the power band almost like it is hitting a limiter. i have replaced the spark plug and cleaned the carb but it only seem to be getting worse i am hoping it isnt a piston or somthing worse. could it be due a rebuild? im not sure of the milage. thanks for any help or feedback you can give.

Sometimes re-packing the spark arrester/ silencer can make a big difference in performance. If you are not sure of time since re-packing then probably worth it. Makes a difference on my 07 250.
