Default Is this barrel fudged ?

As the title says really . I'm doing my top end on my ec 125 (first 1 I've ever done) here's some pics I've got of it .

Well the pictures show it is pretty discoloured, but I can't tell looking at them if the plating is worn through. It is incredible stuff. Clean it up a bit with kero and scotchbrite to make a better assessment.

Then find a reconditioner with a diamond hone machine which can super accurately hone it taking the minimum off. Check and accept no other method.

I think honing a 2 stroke barrel is a bad idea and even more so if it has never been plated before. Factory plating is only about .002 thick.

I have had good success lightly diamond honing 3 older stock GG cylinders, but that cylinder looked like it was worn through the plating.

Plated barrels are diamond honed to start with. They take off sod all. Like .00025`` from 004`` typical thickness. Or a sixteenth.
A normal hone will wreck it.
