Default New Brake fluid

Hi ppls

I want to put new brake fluid into my front brakes, I have heard not to let the lines and MC run dry, so how do I put new fluid in there without mixing the old stuff with the new?

Cheers

Just suck the old fluid out of the resivior and replace it with new then bleed the system down below while keeping the res full with new oil.Half a doz or more pumps and the system will be full of new oil.

Buy a big syringe, some clear tubing that fits both the end of the syringe and the bleed nipple, attach the clear tube to syringe and fasten with a small zip tie, fill the big syringe using the tube with whatever brake fluid is written on the mc, make sure all air out of full tube and syringe, put appropriate ring spanner on bleed nipple then fit clear tube on nipple and fasten with small zip tie. Remove mc cover, have some paper towels ready. Crack bleed nipple and squeeze syringe till mc full, close nipple, suck up most brake fluid with paper towel leaving a little to cover bottom of mc, repeat till its obvious that it's new brake fluid. When done flick brake line with finger for a while just to make sure no bubbles, replace mc cap, test brakes, if it works remove all the syringe, spanner etc and go out and pin it somewhere!

If you just want to replace the fluid you can simply gravity bleed the system. Remove the cover from the M/C attach a hose to the bleed screw into a drip pan. Open the bleed screw and keep topping up the M/C until clean fluid comes out of the hose. Just don't let the M/C run dry. Then close the bleed screw and replace the M/C cap. Done.
