You need to set the ring end gap and you need to do an air leak down test.

What about first start, break in? Should I start it and let it idle in my driveway and get to temp, putt it around? Or is it just good to go like normal?

Don't idle it. Let it warm up normal, ride it around a bit gently 10 min. Check water etc.

Progressively rag it harder. By lunchtime it's run in.

Don't lose any sleep over it.
