Subframe
So I was given a "repaired" subframe for my 04 ec300 and when I went to mount it the welds on one of the mounts is too thick and will not allow the holes to align properly....
Any ideas? Can the welds be ground down without compromising them? Or will the first crash take it out? There is also a kx subframe online that I found but what all is needed to be modified besides the seat bolts? I have read that one of the arms is too short and needs to be extended and other say nothing needs to be done other than drilling the holes for the seat to mount. |

I say no big deal, grind away minimum amount necessary to fit up and ride it. If it breaks get it rewelded. A good welder can make it stronger than OEM as long as he/she has the bike to see how it has to fit.

The KX sub frame I got from gofasters fit fine. You do have to change the seat mounts but other than that fits fine.
