Unless you own the necessary tools, and know how to use them safely, you are better off to send it out. If it's an Enduro Engineering (DEP?) pipe - good luck.

If you only have one pipe it might be a good idea to send it off to be repaired.

But if you are gonna try it yourself...
A spare pipe to practice on would be highly recommended. Ask around. It doesn't have to be one off your Gasser. Just another pipe that has a dent in it. It's really isn't that hard once you have done a couple. (And learn what and what not to do...)

You don't need a lot of psi to accomplish it. But all dents are not the same.
A small touch to heat up the dent and surrounding area around the dent is a must. A dent with a crease in it is much much harder to remove than a rounded dent. Make sure your end cap will let go if you do some how over pressure things....Don't ask how I know this....

Hey it's always good to try new things...right.

I'd love to send it to www.piperepair.com but sadly for us brits there doesn't seem to be a place like this in the uk.

Shipping would be horrendous so not justified really ....I might call a local motocross/enduro shops/dealers see if theres any joy that way

thanks for the replies though

Default Pipe repair

Hi there Savage Sausage,
I'd be interested to know how you get on if you do find someone useful in the UK.
I have a dent (or two ) in mine which I would love to get removed.
If you end up trying it yourself I would also like to hear how you get on.

Good luck either way !!

Baz

I have a mate down here in Cornwall who has the kit to blow dents out. Squashed mine almost flat on a tree and it came out just great. 20 quid to sort.

Lots of MX dealers will have the kit to do it, so you should be able to find somewhere close to home.

Where in the UK are you Savage Sausage?

There not even big dents either just wanted it to be right, Ive called a couple of local MX shops but neither of them seemed to want to entertain it.

ey up, by gum.

If you fancy making your own have a look at the thread attached.

http://freestylemtx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47897

We used about 25 to 30 psi on mine and a propane torch, with a hammer to get it all smooth again.

Be careful not to set fire to your flat cap or whippet!

I Called a shop called Off Road Wakefield (WOR ) as I was advised they could blow dents out.

Some snotter answered the phone like a pitbull, I advised him that I had been passed this number and that I was told
they could remove the dents.
Then technical engineer 2011 answered the telephone and told me that gas gas pipes were twin wall...I told him it was a messico pipe ,, "mexico pipe" NO messico pipe ...so how much will it be to remove the dents the ( me thinkin ?10-15 ) well could be ?30??

We might need to cut it in half and beat out the dents with a hammer .....at this point I thought ?u*k you ...
