Yes, it seems that Gasgas are very hard to sell in NZ, so you can get them for amazing prices. They do have some "idiosyncrasies", but they are such great turning bikes. You'll love it at Woodhill, especially at the Muriwai end where the Waitemata club run their trail rides, where there is less soft sand and whoops, and more tight twisty stuff. Welcome aboard!

Guys, took the new GG for a good run at Sandpit. Boy was it good! Pretty surprised with the powerband - pretty good punch (unlike KTM 300) - reminded me of my old IT 490! Turning is amazing. Also did not get any major arm pump compared to my previous CRF450X - I could just keep on going!

Glad bike is not so shiny anymore - looks better that way!

Looking forward to some great summer rides.

One happy GG owner.

Et

I'd be interested in hearing how you find it verses the crfx450. I've only ridden one for about 10 minutes but I quite liked it - felt so planted.

My CRF450x was a 2008 model. Never missed a beat. Ton of grunt - TONS. Was JD Jetted with Airbox mods. Solid bike with a very good motor.

In the open country the bike was a pleasure, but in tight twisty stuff it was a pig of a thing. Also after one hour of riding, I was dead tired. Never felt like you could just relax and ride the bike. Maybe the 250 would have been a better choice. Believe me when I tell you that you don't want to be stuck in a typical NZ Bog with a 450 - those extra 20kg feels like 100kg

Would be nice to have 2 bikes - ideal solution.

Before you buy a 450, ride it for at least a day before you make a decision.

Happy days

Thanks for the opinion EittianeNZ. I always wondered if I should have gone the 450 way, but you make me think I made the right choice.
You and BRADZE are gonna love your gassers at places like Riverhead and Maramarua - the tighter, twistier, rootier it gets - the bigger the smile.

hey guys i to went from a crf450x to a gasgas 300 and man im telling you i cant believe all the energy i was wasting from such a heavy bike. dont get me wrong my honda was bullet proof, never a problem(i didnt inflict )and ran completely perfect for 3years then the valves kept going out on me. i fought my 2 stroke buddies for the last few years arguing the four stroke side then rode my biddies 2010 250 six days and i literally put my honda up for sale that night and had it sold within the week. i bought mine a week later and never looked back. it easily made me 30% faster on tight single track however im still trying to climb like i used to on the old honda but it will come! these bikes are made so well i cant say enough about them, im definetly converted to the 2-stroke way

Why only two...

I have a Husky TE510 great bike but it was a bit much on the tight S/T stuff.

But...man I do love XC 300 it's amazing how an afternoon just floats by while riding...

Hope your like your new ride...sweet bike.
