I've really enjoyed the Marzocchi/Reiger combo on the 2014, but I'm not one of those people that is SUPER tuned into their suspension. The Reiger shock on my 2014 seems to work better for me than the 2013 Ohlins did.

And for the record, my 2013 has never failed to electric start except for a few times that actually weren't related to the starter itself (one was the relay, one was a break in the wiring harness and one was a failed key switch). Richard Wilson at House of Horsepower has some sort of shimming trick, but I have yet to need to do it.

I'm looking at the cheaper standard model not the racing (that's quite a bit more ???) so it has the sachs shock not the reiger...

Also to set up my '05 I adjusted the high speed compression nearly all the way off and it works beautifully - the standard model won't have the HS compression... I like my bikes very soft...

In the US they only import the racing model.

I think one of the 'issues' that in the recent past GG is that would send bikes that didn't really have the proper components, the ones that were promised from the factory to the importer.

Looking at the compression adjuster exploded view it appears to be an all compression adjuster, no restricted flow so if you turn it down it gets softer throughout, this is how it feels as well.

So it's not like a bleed screw type adjustment to bypass the shims then?

What I read about the Reiger is it has truly independent piston bleeds for the compression and rebound (unlike the Ohlins). I know you can buy a port block from Ohlins that will isolate them but that isn't standard. Typically the compression adjust will also effect the rebound which is more of an issue if you have to run heavy springs.

If it has the Sachs shock it should have a HS compression clicker - mine does.

I believe that it is only the Reiger shocks on the GG that do not have HS compression adjustment. For that matter, I think every contemporary shock other than the Reiger has HS compression adjustment - not talking OE on a DR200 etc.
