Default Compression setting on rear shock not doing anything

I recently bought a 2018 XC300. I've been playing with the rear suspension settings. Changing the rebound makes a noticeable difference to the rebound speed but the high and low speed compression feels like it doesnt change at all not matter how many clicks or turns I make on the adjustment.

I've been away from dirt bikes for 15 years and been mountain biking instead and on my MTB rear shock the H/L compression does make a noticeable difference, so I assumed it would be the same on my XC.

Should I feel big difference between open/closed when testing on a stationary bike? I was expecting that I should?

Cheers

it is low speed circuits so you should be able to feel the difference between fully open and fuly closed just by pushing down on the seat
make sure you arent djusting the highspeed circuit

Yes, you should easily notice a difference. If not, it's time for your shock to be serviced and make sure to tell them what issue your having.

cheers guys.

As I suspected. I'm going to pull the shock apart and take a look. They look far easier to dismantle than modern mountain bike shocks ( which I have rebuilt many times).

Feels like there is a problem with the compression cartridge is nothing is happening when the adjustments are changed. Guess I will find out!
