Default 2006 ec 250

Hi guys , there's an ec250 2006 model near me for sale that I'm tempted to go view , anyone who's owned 1 on here what's your thoughts on them ? What's the motor like ? Luggable or on & off like and old school MX bike ?

They are very reliable fun bikes to ride. The engine has good low end, midrange and it still rips to high rpms. Those bikes work well in technical terrain and are happy doing enduros or trail riding. They are little heavy but carry their weight low so you do not really notice it.

You can convert it to a 300 or do a 250 big bore kit if you want more low end and midrange. Parts are readily available and you can upgrade the plastic to look like a newer GasGas.

Thanks for the reply bud . Yeah this one has the newer style plastics already so looks the part . The only thing I'm put off about is I can ride my 09 EC 125 like a trails bike which I like , whereas the 04 kx 250 I had was literally on or off

The GG EC250 will be more mellow than your GG EC125.

Great bikes with a great engine. More bottom, similar midrange, and a very powerful top end but not as explosive as a KX. The EC bikes were designed specifically as enduro bikes unlike the MX only KX.

If you want trials type power delivery I highly suggest a Suzuki needle for your carb. I have a nedw needle in my 2011 ec250. It pulls strong and clean from idle in a very controllable way but will still rev all the way to the top. Mid throttle goes a little flat but that could possibly be tweaked out. I haven't tried because I love the way the bike pulls. Only time I notice the mid throttle flatness is when I trying to keep up with fast guys.
