Stumped on 01' main bearings
Ok so i'm working on an 01 ec300 motor. I have it pulled apart and the main bearings out. The problem is that the bearings that came out are not the same size as the ones that are listed to go in. The bearings are exactly the same on both sides. the inside diameter seems to be 30mm rather than 28mm and the outside diameter looks to be a good 3-5mm bigger than the 62mm spec'd. What gives?

Sounds like it has the 2000 and prior setup with identical ball bearings on each side. Sometime in 01 it changed to a roller bearing on the ignition side and a ball bearing on the other. I have a 2000 model in pieces that does have the ball bearings on each side and my 05 definitely has the roller left/ball right setup. I had an 01 apart a long time ago but can't remember what was actually in it.
