Default Possible Website Down Time...

Hi All,
The server for this website is located at my home. We have an arctic storm that has pushed into the area today. Temps will drop down to the low teens tonight/tomorrow - with the sudden drop in temp we sometimes get freezing and breaking tree limbs taking out power lines. I have battery backup but no generator, so we may be offline for periods of time this week.

The snow here is beautiful (we sometimes don't see any 'good snow' at all). My daughter just got done building a snow fort in the front yard. Life is good... My daughter is hoping for a "snow day" tomorrow (schools will be shut with poor road conditions).

Hope you fair better than we are here in Minnesota this weekend.

As most of you have heard the upper plain states (South and North Dakota and Minnesota) have been hit with a blizzard this weekend as we're currently buried in snow with 40 mile an hour winds and basically zero visibility.

We're expecting -45 degrees below zero wind chills tonight (12/14/08.)

Jeff,

Here's to a snow day for your daughter and no broken power lines for us.

We're looking at a mild ice storm this evening. Our daughter is supposed to get her braces on tomorrow morning. We'll see...

Guys sorry to hear all of your bad weather.

Here in Houston it is around 70 a bit on the humid side though.

We were hit with 26 degree weather a few days ago with some snow flurries. This was the first time I have seen snow in Houston and I have been here for almost 3 years now.

All of you had better stay warm and please be safe.

Robby

Oh,, its -31,, but it looks like you have company to keep you warm(in your avatar)...

Jeff,, Hope you have fun with the Daughter in the snow,, but start up a flux capacitor or something to keep the server online.. Some of us arent working full time yet and need this board for sanity reasons..

Happy Festivus!

Yeah, it rained and snowed in Houston the day Robby picked me up! Like an NJ November day. WTF?? I had two long sleeve shirts, thats it. It was close to 60 here today.

Snow is nice in limited amounts, ice is bad in any amount, be carefull! Before a massive tree trimming along the road leading up to my community, we would loose power often. A utility generator is a good investment, especially if you need power for water (pump) as well as light and heat.
