Default Fork Settings after 8 months...

So I have owned my 2014 Gas 300 for almost a year now. After many months of experimentation I ended up with a good race setting.

Preload 3 turns in
Comp 16 clicks out
Rebound 18 clicks out

I was looking through the manual the other day and came across the suspension guide and low and behold, the setting that took me months to figure out are the exact settings recommended in the handbook for Sport/racing.

LOL...go figure, should have just read the entire handbook upfront and saved myself 8 months of experimenting. I will say it was a very good learning experience and I now know exactly how the changes effect the handling. I figured it would be good to share with everyone my findings.

Also, I have not yet been able to dial in the rear shock 100%, so I just went with the manuals recommended settings and we will see how it goes.

Rear shock
Comp 10 clicks
Rebound 22 clicks

I was way off from the manual recommendation (comp 20 clicks and rebound 16 clicks). The rear would swap at high speed and kick up over acceleration bumps, but was good everywhere else. If the shock recommendation works as well as the fork recommendation, I hope for a good improvement.

That's some fast rebound!

Those shock recommendations look like something you'd see for an Ohlins. Didn't the 14 come with a Reiger shock? If so, different ballgame.

That is the recommendation for the Reiger right from the manual. I agree it looks rather strange. Stiff compression but soft/fast rebound

I think the manual for my 15 has the shock settings at 20 rebound and 20 comp. I could double check if you need. Maybe a misprint in your manual?

Ok my mistake, the 15 manual list for the Reiger shock std 12 comp 19 rebound. sport 10 comp 17 rebound.

But I recorded my new 15 settings as received, shock was set at 20 comp 20 rebound.
