Thanks guys. Always a wealth of knowledge out here. Anyone have the manual.

I wasn't able to get anything out of Mark so I tried the preload adjustment and the forks softened up quit a bit. The preload was all the way tight from the factory is that how it comes? I have the preload backed off 3/4 from full tight with compression full soft and rebound full slow. The rear sag is at 120 with the low speed set full soft and full slow. I've probably got about 25 hrs on them and they seem to be getting smoother

Help with the valving would be greatly appreciated

Arizona's currently #1-rated A-rider in our rocky enduro series picked up an EC250 Racing (former KTM owner). He loves the firmness of the suspension, but he is really, really, really, really fast.

If you are not really, really, really, really fast and you own or want to own the EC250 Racing, you'd be wise to consider a re-valve of the EC250 Racing from LTR (or just buy a standard EC250).

I'll re-iterate what Glenn said. Ohlins is not the answer. In fact, I almost bought a new bike specifically for the Sachs suspension. The 09 I rode in Greece was absolutely perfect. Now it stands I'll get a 2010 or leftover 2009 at the end of the year.

After some testing I got the suspension working alot better. I know I was told not to mess with the preload but that seemed to have helped alot. The preload screw was all the way in so I backed it out and turned my compression full soft and rebound full slow.

That made the forks a little too soft and I ended up tightening the preload to stiffen then adjusting the clickers. I currently have the comp @ 4 off full soft and rebound 6 off full slow.

The rear shock feels great and I just set the preload to 120mm and moved the clickers a little.

It seems like the preload on the forks was causing my extreme harshness. Before adjusting the preload it would stay really high in the stroke. Now it looks like I'm able to use most of the stroke.

We couldn't find a manual but my Ohlins tech is going to give it a look and see what the shim stacks look like. From what he knows the newer sachs are using the same cartridge technology as Ohlins but we'll see.

Don't know why they would say don't mess with preload if it is externally adjustable!

I agree. The preload is externally adjustable and GoFasters told me to start there. It did soften the forks up quite a bit. I'm still making adjustments but revalving is probably necessary.

Thumbs up

I've been in touch with suspension specialist, Dr. Shox & he has a setting for the Sachs forks, I'm going to get mine done as I'm getting tired of the current harshness of my forks which have been adjusted many times by the dealer. I'll let you know when I get them back how they're performing.
