Default EC200 06 Clocks

Hi just got a 2006 EC200 (great bike)
I cant get the digital dials to work, they flicker on when I kick the bike over but just for a couple of seconds then nothing? I have checked all the plugs and connections which all look fine. Any problems worth checking. Rode for 3 hours at the weekend without any hint of life from them.
(this is my first GG)

Is the internal battery fresh?

Ah, ok, I was about to ask the same question, just picked up my 05 model and the speedo has a green Hugh to the digital screen when I rev it, but other than that nada!

Un bolt speedo from underneath. There will be a round cover with a slot in the middle of it.Use a coin to unscrew. The battery is usually a disc type.take note of which way it came out ie + or - facing up Should be able to get one at your local supermarket or newsagent etc

What speedo do you have? They changed a lot during the 2005-2006 time frame. Post a photo if you can.

Mine was a 9v PP3 battery, no idea what or how any of the functions work, but I've seen a guide on this forum somewhere!

Mine has no battery, just powered from the stator.

The wires to the unit are very fine and the insulation on mine had rotted thru. re wired the feed to it with the lead from an old computer keyboard. A bit fiddly, but it worked.

Very inventive, even better that it worked. Sense of achievement yeah!

No battery in mine but the lead and plug look poor. Will test with a meter I guess I should have 12v to it?
