Default Check-out these RICH Settings

HELP! I am STILL trying to Identify why this bike requires really RICH settings to run really good. Now I am looking into a rebuild kit for RB mod PWK38 on my GasGas2004MC250. I see Sudco offers "genuine OEM Needle valves" ???-for all but GasGas of course. Do we use 'genuine' GasGas KEIHIN needle valves? I see a Kit 020-110 from Sudco with what I guess is a generic needle valve....OK?

I've replaced the carb boot, checked the gas cap and vent hose, replaced reeds and gaskets, replaced ignition side seal, fuel filter,......
No smoke to indicate clutch side seal/oring leakage. Fluid levels stay good. Cylinder seams are clean- rare to leak air into case here.
TIMING?? timing is about the only thing I haven't messed with (besides carb rebuild) and don't know how to perform this check.

Bike runs good at:
Clip 4 DEK
48 slow
195 main is almost too lean
sealevel
60F
50:1 H1R 100%synthetic
non-ethanol 92 octane

Forum Postings HERE average 40,CEK on 3, 178 in my riding conditions. Something is still wrong...........THANKS!

Consider sweet talking a mate over a few beers to do a complete carb swap? Will identify if something in your carb is worn. Sounds like engine wise everything is as it should be.

Good luck.

Both mine run best with LTR needles, 48 pilots and 180 mains. So I'm with you. Only I never thought of mine running rich, only how everyone else gets along running so lean
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
