If you set your squish band close or are very particular about port timing then you need to check your installed dimensions every time you replace the piston. When I put a new piston in my '06 EC300 the top of the new Vertex piston at the outer edge was 0.23 mm higher than the top of the original piston at the outer edge. I set the base gaskets to compensate.
