Default Piston ?

Anyone know where I can get a B or C piston for an EC300 ?
All I can find is Wiseco and I'd prefer something else.

Just out of curiosity, why not Wiseco? Not to knock you, but maybe you know something I don't.

We made fun of Wiseco in the 1970's, but that was unfounded. Never had a problem with them. I run them in my de300 and my daughter's ktm 200 (sorry), and they seem fine.

Thanks.

My buddy, that has owned a shop for 30 yrs., said the Wiseco (forged) would probably be fine but I should be careful to warm the bike up well before every ride. He also thought that, since they only offer 1 size, I might could get a more appropriately sized OEM-type (cast) piston for my cylinder (which may have worn to a C ?). I think the one that I've had in there for 3 years is a Vertex.

Thanks for the information. I haven't put as many hours on my 300 as i would have liked, so it probably won't get the top end replaced until next year. I'll see how the wiseco does by then.

Thanks again.

I got a wiseco for my 06 300 with about 70 hours on it. piston was too big .. not enough clearance for when it heated up. I called wiseco and they said it was the only piston they made and it should work even on a new jug ... sure as hell did not work on mine. Took piston and jug to two different engine builders, both said not to run it as clearance was not enough for when it warmed up.

btw vertex is owned by wiseco ..or vice versa

You should buy the OEM made pistons. They are really well made (over 100+ hours of hard ridding on my bike) and come in upper sizes. As much un-lucky misshaps i have had with Gofasters.com they got em in stock. Otherwise a Gasgas dealer can get them in for you.

Wiseco was the stock piston in my 2000 EC300.

I've always got all my stuff from GoFasters and they sent me a Wiseco. Then my buddy gave me the info I mentioned in my original post. Hall's only has Wiseco too. Ron Brundidge has none.
Who has 'em ?!!!!

I got a Vertex from gofasters this past winter. I heard they were using them a OEM now.

Skid. The same company owns Vertex and Wiseco.
